She's right. The Michel family was in Mexico before the French went there. Actually, the Michel family is one of the cofounding families of Guadalajara City. You should hire a genealogist to help you with this. There is a website with professional genealogists. It's called Association of Professional Genealogists but I don't recall the link to it. Go to Google and type in Association of Professional Genealogists. Search for a genealogist that specializes in Mexico.
