Bonjour,
For three years now, I'm searching for any informations on the Mickel (or Meikle or Muckle) Family. Some members of mine says they came from Ireland, some others says from England or from Scotland...
My gg-father John Meikle was born around 1871 (in St-Moise, Quebec, Canada ?) and died in Port-Daniel, Quebec, Canada January 27th 1919 (he was 48). He married Helen-Barbara Robinson from Shigawake Bonaventure Co, Quebec, Canada (d/o Clara Robinson).
It seems that John lived for a time in St-Moise (near Amqui) and left when he was around 7.
They had 7 children (Jean-Joseph Nazaire Meikle (m. Cécile Fortin, Quebec), Joseph-Leopold Meikle or Michel, Marie-Lucia Meikle, George-William-Joseph Muckle (my grand-father, we write it Mickel), Anna-Catherine-Yvonne Mickel, Julie Alice Mickel and Marie-Adèle Mickel (m. Georges Doucet in Campbelton).
Any information on this family will be welcome.
