David Osborn "Obie" married Maud Douglass. Maud's back was broken during a storm while camping. She died on my father's 9th birthday (Aug 15, 1914). He recalled taking the birthday cake made for him and throwing it away.
My father, Leon George "Mick" Mickle, stated that his mother was tall, thin, and had blonde hair that touched the ground when sitting. After the accident she had to be tied to a chair to sit up and never walked again. He recalled that she was very beautiful.
I recall him saying that in Scotland the Mickle name was spelled and pronounced differently. He told me at the time, but I do not recall what he said.
If anyone has information about this I would like to know.
I am also searching for more information re the Mickle family in Scotland.
