I also have a Thomas Miners (1820-1896)who went to Australia along with his wife Elizabeth Mitchell (married 1848) who died on the voyage on "The Fiery Star" which landed at Moreton Bay (Brisbane). Their children were:
Emma (b 1846)
Richard (1848)
Edith (1854)
Elizabeth (1856)
William James Mitchell (1861)
Louisa (1863)

The Miners were accompanied by my g-g-aunt, Mary Mescall of Cooraclare Kilrush Ireland (1848 - 1896) who subsequently married Thomas. There had three further children:
Mary Kate (1867)
Thomas John (1869) and
Anne Jane (1872)

I have a good deal of futher information, including present day descendants in Aussie. If any of this rings a bell, please drop me a line. Further details of the family can be found on my site at:
