I believe that's James Haben and not Hoban. The McClure book says Ormsby McKnight Mitchell was the son of Col John Mitchell and Elizabeth McAllister. David Mcknight Mitchell was born in 1784 and Ormsby McKnight Mitchell was born July 23 1809 25 years later. Typical of these families. He graduated from West Point with Robert E Lee in 1829.

Elizabeth McAllister was baptized by President Davidson of Dickenson College in Carlisle PA.

This family connect to the O'Hara/Denny families of Pittsburgh. Col John Mitchell was General James O'Hara's second in command. According to Neville B Craig, the Ormsby's and Mcknight's lived on Penn Ave in Pittsburgh across the street from the O'Hara's
