If it helps this family is also related to Margaret Mitchell who wrote Gone With the Wind. You can get the idea of how this could be by reading about the spy operation in stealing the train "The General" out of Atlanta during the Civil War. They hung the leader James Andrews June 7 1862 about 5 blocks from Margaret Mitchell house in Alanata.
