My grandmother once told me her grandfather or great grandfather was a Cherokee Indian Chief, at that time i was young and not so interested and after i grew up and she was gone i got into Genealogy so the only line i've came to a dead end and believe could be Indian because of photos and extensive research on her other lines was her great great grand parents on her mothers side, Franklin and Eliza A.Mitchel found on a marriage license of their daughter Mary Martha Mitchel 1880 in Roodhouse Greene Co. Il. and haven't been able to find anything else on them sofar, anything look familiar? thanks.
