A family of Mitchell's and Mooers' moved together from Maine to Wisconsin around the 1850's, working in and around Polk County Wisconsin.
1870 census has George, age 55, b. in New Brunswick, (CAN,) Elisha, age 53, b. in Maine, Joseph, age 35, b. in New Brunswick, d. abt. 1870/71, Charles, age 29, b. in Maine.
Thomas Mooers was married to George's daughter, Elizabeth Jane, who d. abt. 1869. Thomas would marry Amanda (Lyford) Mitchell, widow of Joseph, in 1872. The Mooers' would eventually move to Astoria, OR around 1887/88. Does anyone know anything about George or Charles? Did they come west or settle in Wisconsin? Did Charles have descendents?
