Almost every file I've found online for Benjamin Mitchell gives a specific birth date of Aug 17, 1777 but unsourced.
I would appreciate it if someone can tell me the source for this date and how reliable it is.
I have reason to believe, from records found, that he was born before 1774. One of those records is the 1794 WarrenCo, GA Tax list indicating he should at least 21 years old.
I have also seen references to his will dated 1849 but have seen only an unsourced abstract. If anyone has a copy of the original or a full transcript and is willing to share it with me, I would much appreciate it.
