I have in hand an electronic copy of a letter written by William W. Mizell/Mizzle of Rusk County, TX to his sister Mary Ann Mizell Martin of Coosa County, AL. The letter is dated August 9, 1858. If any of William's descendants would like a copy please contact me at smjamartin@farmerstel.com.
William and Mary Ann were children of Gliston W. Mizell/Mizzle and wife Matilda C. Goodgame of Coosa Co., Alabama. Mary Ann Mizell married Asa Thomas Martin December 17, 1856 in Coosa County. A descendant of Asa's daughter Matilda A. Martin just made contact with me over the past week. Seems Matilda A. Martin, she married William A. Whetstone, saved a multitude of family letters that she inherited from her mother. Her descendants have safely passed these letters along through the generations. Andrew Clark is the kind soul who contacted me and offered to send me the electronic copy of the letter. This is a rare and precious find, so I want to share this with any of William's descendants who are interested.
