Dear Kathy,
I descend from David Mahan. I noticed in your post that you mentioned David is son of (James and Nancy Goodwin) Mahan. Many of my fellow researchers think that Davids father was Alexander and Polly (Brashears) Mahan. They have not been able to back up this claim but base it on the names of David's children (mainly Robert Samuel since James Mahan does not seem to have this name any where in his line). I am interested in knowing if you have a source linking James and David. I have always felt that James is the father of David but I am in the minority in my beliefs. I have numerous files on the Mahans in Ozark Co. and will see what I can come up with to answer your questions. Thanks for any info. you might be able to share with me.
