Various Goodman family members from Virgina are living in Pike County on the 1860 US Census. Does anyone have any knowledge of this assembly of Goodmans and their relationship to each other? Who the patriarchs and matriarchs are?
I am researching the family of David H. Goodman, born 1807 Virginia, who migrated to Illinois and then settled in Buffalo
Township, Pike County. I assume he was doing business as a blacksmith at Louisiana, since this town would have more traffic and business. There is an historic house there with the name Goodman attached to it, and an "old Goodman farm" in the vicinity.
Anyone with information about this family, I would appreciate hearing what you have to say. Thank you.
