A Black settlement in Peno Township from 1880 to 1930. This settlement has a school, store, church , cemetery, blacksmith. And lots of good neighbors. there is a book compiled by me at our local history library with death certificates and census on the people in and around this area who were black.

The are pictures of the area and it's cemetery which have no markers but there are over 60 people buried there from time to time, with only field stones as markers..

Some surnames included are Mallory, Howard, Jackson, Harris, Blackewell, bryant, Bell, Robinson, there are others also.
This book done in memory of all that is lost and can be lost if we dont remember.
