Ralls county claims a species of blue grass not like that found in most parts of Missouri. It is local history that Stephen Glascock, one of the pioneers of Ralls, brought from his home when he came west what he called "Virginia blue grass." The soil of Ralls seemed to be especially favorable. From Glascock's early sowing of the Virginia blue grass spread to alls parts of the county.

Jay's note: Stephen Glascock's home was that of his parents, Hezekiah Glascock and Sarah Stephens in Fauquier Co, Virginia. Stephen's home in Ralls Co, Missouri was off of New London Gravel Road near Camp Creek Road.
Also note that the book is referring to 100 years ago in Ralls County, Missouri about 1821.
