I'm looking for information on James Daulton. He was a son of Moses Daulton and Mary Fristoe, born in Virginia, and raised in Mason County, Kentucky. He was married to Naomi Wakeman and they had several children. In 1829, the family moved to Ralls County, Missouri. They bought a farm and had 3 more children. Naomi died in 1846, James died in 1848. My main question is what became of the younger children? I am a descendant of James's brother George W. Daulton. George died circa 1850 as a result of some sort of accident, according to family stories, possibly during a trip. My guess is that he traveled to Missouri to take care of his brother James's estate and minor children and died either in route or on the return trip. He left 4 minor children of his own, and according to court records in Brown County, Ohio, in May 1850, his brother Thomas Daulton became their guardian. I have no proof but this explanation seems logical to me. I would really appreciate any information or clues! Thanks! Debbie Daulton Whited
