Do you know if your Strangeman Modglin was ever in Pope County, Illinois?
You are correct about: Not knowing why some researchers say what they say. I know a researcher on another family that I descend from and she joined the DAR on a different person with the same name, even after I give her the proof that her research was wrong. It cause many problems with new researchers of that family that contact me.
The research that I got many years ago that stated Strangemon Modglin of Pope Co., Illinois was my Elizabeth's Father was without proof. It did give me some good leads that help me prove back to my George W. & Elizabeth Lackey. After talking with you and others from that have researched your Strangeman Modglin I have come to doubt that my Elizabeth is a Modglin or that there is two Strangeman Modglin's. It also could be that she could be a Modglin by a brother to Strangeman. I believe I will have to figure out where my George W. Lackey and Elizabeth got married before I can say who she was.
Thanks for you input,
