I am yet to see the information on Strangeman & Cloe Patterson Modglin but have found a Strangeman Modglin in Randolph Co., Illinois in 1810. In Gallatin Co., Illinois in 1814. In Pope Co., Illinois in 1820&1830. In Washington Co., Ark. in 1836. Benton Co., Ark. in 1837 and in Lawrence Co., Ark in 1840. He is dead by 1850. In 1850 Benton Co., Ark. there is a Clarey Magelin age 88 living in the home of Thomas & Zilpha Guthry.
This Strangeman Modglin appears to be born between 1770 and 1780. He is living near George & Elizabeth Modglin Lackey in 1820, Pope Co., Illinois. Elizabeth Modglin Lackey was b. abt. 1782, North Carolina.
This Strangeman Modglin must have been related to Strangeman Modglin born abt. 1750. Nephew??
Any help in in solving this mystery would be appreciated. If interested will share the information I have collected.
There appears to be close connection between Strangeman Modglin, Eli Modglin and Elizabeth Modglin Lackey. All lived in Pope Co., Illinois and all moved to Washington-Benton Co., Ark. area in the 1830's.
