Hello Bill,
Thank you, very much! I called Higginson Books. I will have the book in about two and a half months. It has to be printed. I'm so excited about this. I despaired of ever finding a copy.I've called everywhere and the only other place I found it was the New England History & Genealogy Society,in Boston.I was planning to go,now I won't have to.
My Monet/Monette line comes from L'Acadie,PQ.Canada, through my paternal grandmother,Marie-Hermine Benoit dit Livernois. Her mother was Rosalie Monette dit Laverdure d/o Hipolyte(Paul) and Rose Trahan. I have traced the line back to my first ancestor to Canada using secondary sources,i.e.Tanguay,Jette and The big Drouin;parish registers and marriage repertoires, plus the help of many wonderful, generous people who gave of of thier time and research expertise. My first ancestor to Canada was Jean -Francois Monette dit Laverdure dit Biscornet. He married Marie Dumas in L'Acadie PQ Canada. I haven't been able to go beyond to Jean's parents,in France.I'm hoping O.E.Monnette's book will allow me to do that.
Thanks again,Joyce Matteau
