Mortensen became MORTHEN
Posted by: Peter Morthen Date: January 30, 2001 at 02:32:59

This may sound ridiculous, but I was wondering if there was any link between the name Mortensen and my family name of Morthen.
The reason I ask is that my family name apparently came about when my Grandfathers father "jumped ship", and changed his name from Mortensen to Morthen.
My Grandfather hailed from Norway, or something like that. Also, my Grandmother always spoke of us being related to Marilyn Monroe, then I see a "Marilyn Mortensen Monroe" on the main index.
Am I barking up the wrong tree or what. I was just curious to see if there was any reference to my name on the net.
