I am looking for the birth record of Joseph Mumby born circa 1759. He married Anne White in 1781 in Newark upon Trent, Notts, but had a grocers shop in Horncastle, Lincs. His eldest son was John Ives Mumby born in 1783. the family had 16 children that we know of, but only a handful survived to adulthood. Later in Joseph's life he moved to Wisbech where he had an Inn called The Vine which ran a stage coach service to London. His last address was in St Ives, Huntingdon. Has anyone traced their ancestors back to this man? Or do you think you have an ancestor who may have been part of the family? Joseph's son John Ives Mumby lived in Newark upon Trent and then Nottingham. His descendants moved to Derby. I am a direct descendant of John Ives Mumby and his father Joseph.
