Hi Amy,
The Great War wiped out a whole generation of young men in the U.K.. During this period any able body man was enlisted into the service. While I was researching my great-uncle, who also died in that war, I went through books upon books of men killed. If was a very difficult day of research and I only went through 3/4 of the 29 volumes. The library in Glasgow, Scotland is a wonderful source of info.
