My gggrandmother Christina Nachtmann was born in Bavaria circa 1818. In 1857, she immigrated to New York City with her son Georg Nachtmann, born 1843 also in Bavaria. They settled in Kleindeutschland near Most Holy Redeemer RC Church on 3rd Street. On Jan 7, 1867, Georg married Katharina Kempf, born Jun 11, 1848 in Niedermorlen, Hesse-Darmstadt. The Kempf family had immigrated from Waldmichelbach, Hesse-Darmstadt in 1854. Although Georg and Katharina had six children, only three survived into adulthood - George, Mary and Christina. After attending a Marianist seminary in Dayton, Ohio, their son George married Mary Braun on Aug 16, 1892. They settled in Brooklyn eventually having 12 children. Any connections out there?
