Although not related to the line I am researching, I did find Louis Nadel in the 1900 New York federal census. He is shown at age 30 (May 1870), born in Austria and reporting both parents born Austria, residing in the 20th Ward of Brooklyn, Kings Co., NY with the occupation of Tailor. He reports as arriving in the U.S. in 1881, residing here for 19 years and still an alien. He is living with his wife, Lena Katz, age 26 (April 1874), born Austria and reporting that both her parents are Austrian born. She claims a marriage duration of 11 years and reports having had 4 children of whom all were currently living. She reports arriving in the U.S. in 1885, residing here for 15 years and still being an alien. Also in the household are son Joseph F., age 9 (February 1891), daughter Gertrude, age 7 (June 1892), daughter Isabelle, age 5 (August 1894) and daughter Rosie, age 3 (November 1896). All children were born in NYC. Also in the household, listed as brother-in-law, is Max Katz, age 21 (April 1879), born Austria and claiming both parents as Austrian born. He is single and reports arriving in the U.S. in 1885, residing here 15 years and still being an alien. Max also has the occupation of Tailor.(1900 New York Federal Census, T623-1057, Book 1, Pge 273)
