NAFTEL/REEVES

Hello Simone,

My great great grandmother was also Sarah Reeves, married to Martin Naftel and your John Reeves.
After Martin was killed, Sarah met Phillip Hoyte and had 3 children with him, one being my great grandmother. It appears that Sarah & Phillip never married, therefore not alot of people know about my line. That's why Sarah used her Naftel name on her & Johns marriage certificate. It's believed that Phillip didn't hang around for too long after my great grandmother Selina was born in 1891 and it appears that the children (particularly Selina) took on the Naftel name when convenient. Selina (Sylena) Naftel is listed as being one of the witnesses to Sarah and John's marriage.
I have 2 photographs of "Grandma Reeves" and also her burial plot in Tingha. She is buried with my great grandmother Selina Turner (Hoyte) and Selina's daughter Shirley Hoyte (Sarah's granddaughter.

Kind regards
Jo-anne
