I don't know if this would help any, but I had a friend named Janos Varga, who lived with his parents in Hamilton, Ontario. His parents escaped Nazi-occupied Hungary around the same time mentioned in your posting. They are Roman Catholic and frequently go back to Hungary to visit with friends and family.
