Hi Chuck - this is what I have to date: Julia Vermillion, daughter of Ellen Duvall and William Fendall Vermillion, b. November 3, 1837, married George Washington Anderson in 1855, died in Forestville, Maryland on March 16, 1910. Buried at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Forestville. Residence at the time of the census: Forestville, Maryland. 8 children: Georgiana, Sarah Elizabeth, Margaret Emma, William Thomas, Charles, Jessie R., Robert Lee, and Martha Ellen. Probably your Julia although all of our info. doesn't match. It's been a while, but I think I determined that yes there was a John Vermillion and Henrietta Nally who lived in DC at the shipyard had a Dennis and John...but not my Nicholas. His father is still a mystery as far as I'm concerned. Otho Vermillion was also hanging around the shipyard at the same time...he's interesting, but I don't think I've determined his parents either. It's possible that your William and my Nicholas were 1/2 siblings....but there's no definite evidence. Nicholas did have a brother, George and their father was indeed a man named John Vermillion. It's believed that William's mother was a Mary Burgess. Our group were pretty much the only ones who stayed in the DC area (every other Vermillion went west)....and yet we're the only ones who can't establish a solid line back to Giles Vermillion...which the researchers agree that's the case - but we have no documentation :( Someday we'll know :) If you find anything, please keep me posted!!
