Brian, more than likely, they are connected. It seems the name originated in England, from what I have discovered. Originally By- Northmore....other spellings are Northmore, Northemore, Narmour, Narmore, Naramore, Narramore, Narmor, Narmar, etc.....its appears they all came from this original name as far as I can tell.....From what I have seen on the www, it appears a vast majority of the spellings started by way of Edward Narramore from Kershaw County, SC in the early 1700's (at least the SE USA decendants) However, I do not have anything to back this up....It is just a theory.
