Have you tried using They now include the 1880 federal census, along with a bunch of information entered by Mormon data gatherers. Unfortunately, the Saxony region of Germany has not yet been included. My paternal great grandmother came from Wuerttenberg, which HAS been extensively included.

I'm pretty much in the same situation with regards to my great grandfather, Bruno Karl Naumann, who also came from "Saxony," although I don't have any further details regarding siblings, parents, home town, etc.
