Edwin Harris married Alice Lurcock in 1878 in Christchurch. For much of their married life they lived on Peacock Street. They had 12 natural children and adopted one. Edwin was supposed to have been born in Woburn, Bedfordshire, England around 1855. At the time of his marriage he was listed as a Compositor. What ship did he come on to NZ and where did he work? Any information regarding this pair (other than can be found in the wonderful book - Gently down the stream) would be appreciated.
