Hello everyone,
I am searching for a Banks family who I believe lived in New Zealand in the 19th century. The little I know of them is as follows.
There were seven brothers but I only know three of their names:
Charles Banks
George Banks
Bertie Banks
Charles Banks came to England around the turn of the 19th century and brought with him his son, Frederick John Banks (who was my grandfather). Charles Banks was a Regimental Sergeant Major in the Royal Artillery and Frederick John Banks was a Private in the army.
They are both associated with the Chelsea Barracks area of London.
I have been informed that Frederick John Banks died in India and this must have been between 1907 and 1913.
Due to family circumstances this family have been unknown to me and I have searched for many years to try to find them.
So, if you are a Banks in New Zealand and any of this rings bells I would be delighted to hear from you.
