Looking for any information that anyone has on Gambor Raphael, apparently has names changes all over the place, has been known as Rafael Gamboa & possibilly H P Raphael, I have information that he may have been born in either New Grenada or Popayan, rumour has it that he was of Spannish heritage, this is where I am stuck as I can not locate a birth certificate for him.
He had been to Australia twice as part of a circus company, he got married in NSW, 1 son Robert Burnell Raphael moved to Preston Victoria Australia where he had several children, Robert's brother Joseph Andrew Rowe Raphael was also part of a circus here in Australia, I have a photo of him as a tripeeze performer.
Joseph's sister Emmaletta had 3 children born in New Zealand, she was married to Johm Williams.
I am interested to find out if Gambor? had any other brothers or sisters and who his parents are, I have also been informed that he may be an Indian, he did perform for the Californian circus and many others.
If anyone has any information that they can add, I would be very pleased to here from you as I am at a dead end, I also better mention that Gambor married Elizabeth Arundell.
