I think my ancestors Nathaniel and Jane Leather emigrated to New Zealand betwee 1871 and 1881from Atherton Lancashire England We have a photograph taken of them in Wellington.
Nathaniel worked for the railways in England and it's possible he went to New Zealand as a member of the Brogden Navvies which I believe was a construction company from Manchester England
Can anyone help as I've never done any research in New Zealand and don't know where to start
