I’m going to provide some information in two posts – one on the McRae family, and one of the Nottingham family. For many of the people you will see birth, marriage and death records that have the year, slash and a number. These are records that your (or your friend) can order online at the NZ Historical BDM web site at http://bdmhistoricalrecords.identityservices.govt.nz/home/
Most of the burial information was taken from a CD, but in some cases the cemetery has an online database that can be searched. A list of districts and cemeteries that are online (with links) can be found at the Clan Fraser NZ genealogy web site at http://www.clanfraser.org.nz/genealogy/cemeterylinks.html

The McRae Line
1. DUNCAN MCRAE, father of Effie, was born about 1844, probably in Scotland. Duncan died in 1936, aged about 92, in Napier, New Zealand. He was buried in the Old Napier Cemetery, Napier, NZ.
2. MS. JANET, Duncan's wife, was born about 1853 (probably in Scotland). Ms. Janet died in 1940, aged about 87, in Napier, New Zealand. She is buried in the Old Napier Cemetery.
It doesn’t look like Duncan and Janet were married in New Zealand. They immigrated to NZ before 1878.
Duncan and Janet had 10 KNOWN children (others may have been born prior to coming to NZ):
3. ANN MCRAE, Duncan's daughter, was born in 1878 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Birth Record: Registration No. 1878/4606 McRae Ann Mother: Janet Father: Duncan.
4. WILLIAM MCRAE, Duncan's son, was born in 1880 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Note: Birth Record: Registration No. 1880/9957 McRae William Mother: Janet Father: Duncan.
5. DUNCAN MCRAE, Duncan's son, was born in 1881 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Note: Birth Record: Registration No. 1881/12033 McRae Duncan Mother: Janet Father: Duncan.

7. MARY AGNES MCRAE, Duncan's daughter, was born in 1887 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Note: Birth Record: Registration No. 1887/1865 McRae Mary Agnes Mother: Janet Father: Duncan.
8. WILLIAM LAWRENCE MCRAE, Duncan's son, was born in 1889 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. William Lawrence died in 1944, aged about 55, in New Zealand. Note: Birth Record: Registration No. 1889/5308 McRae William Lawrence Mother: Janet Father: Duncan. Death Record: 1944/19153 McRae William Lawrence 54Y. Burial: Source NZSG Cemetery Fiche - Surname MCRAE - Given Names William Lawrence - Year of Death 1943 - Record Number 12278 - Record Type M/I - Age 54 - Location Waikumete Cemetery RSA (so military service, probably WW I).
9. MARGARET ELLEN MCRAE, Duncan's daughter, was born in 1891 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Note: Birth Record: Registration No. 1891/2441 McRae Margaret Ellen Mother: Janet Father: Duncan.
10. DOUGLAS BRUCE MCRAE, Duncan's son, was born in 1897 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Note: Birth Record: Registration No. 1897/14594 McRae Douglas Bruce Mother: Janet Father: Duncan. Married Edith May Lawson.
11. ARTHUR MCRAE, Duncan's son, was born in 1899 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Note: Birth Record: Registration No. 1899/13609 McRae Arthur Mother: Janet Father: Duncan.
12. EUPHEMIA 'EFFIE' MCRAE, Duncan's daughter, was born in 1895 in New Zealand to Duncan McRae[1] and Ms. Janet[2]. Euphemia 'Effie' died in 1953, aged about 58, in Hastings, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Note: Birth: Registration No. 1895/6201 McRae Euphemia Mother: Janet Father: Duncan (**send away for her birth record to get her mother’s maiden name). Burial: Havelock North Cemetery, Hastings, Hawkes Bay: Nottingham, Effie - Age at Death 58 - Date of Death/Burial 28/06/1953 - Address 0 HASTINGS ROAD - District HAVELOCK NORTH - Block Name G - Plot Number 225 - Site HAVELOCK NORTH .
Euphemia 'Effie' gave birth to one KNOWN son (the NZ Historical BDM site only carries births that occurred 100 years or more ago, so children born after May 1909 will not be shown):
KENNETH RUSSELL NOTTINGHAM, Duncan's grandson, was born about 1928 in New Zealand to Clifford Raymond Nottingham and Euphemia 'Effie' McRae. Kenneth Russell died on 11 March 2006, aged about 77, in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. Buried 11/03/2006 Havelock North Cemetery. Occupation teacher
