I based the McRae tree on the birth record that I thought was Effie's, but it must not have been the Effie you seek. This is what I found based on the notes you found.
"John McRae born Co Antrim Ireland who died 1938 Greytown buried Clareville that we are after who Married 1885/86 in Wellington +(m1) ?"
Death Registration: 1939/24840 McRae John 81Y (giving a birth year of about 1858)
Burial: Source NZSG Cemetery Fiche - Surname MCRAE - Given Names John - Year of Death 1939 - Record Number 1263 - Record Type M/I - Age 81 - Location Clareville Cemetery G05.01
I was unable to find a marriage record on John and Elizabeth/Lizzie Phelan

Effie (Euphemia) McRae born 1894/95? Died 1953 buried Havelock North cemetery (Effie in the Havelock cemetery is correct family memeber) Married 1918 Clifford Nottingham.
As I already sent,the only birth I found was 1895/6201 McRae Euphemia Mother: Janet Father: Duncan. But as most of the births above were not registered, then perhaps hers was not either. Which means you can nix the tree I sent with her parents and siblings. The best thing to do is send away for her marriage certiciate, which should verify parents.
