Thank you ever so much for that information. It has helped tremendously, although I now have a problem with the parenthood of George Edgecumbe who married Elizabeth Jane Prowse.
I have always thought his parents were James Edgecombe (b 18th. March 1821 d 11th. December 1883)and Julia Ann Kennard (b about 1821 d about 1885) who had 6 children. They were Julia Ann, James, Georgw, Susan K, Elizabeth and John.
James ' parents I have as John Edgecombe and Elizabeth Treeby and Julia Ann's parents as Richard Kennard and Elizabeth Bowden.
In what you have given me, George's parents are shown as a Matthew and Mary Edgecombe. I have a specific date for George's birth of 21st. June 1821 being born in Loddiswell, Devon.
Would you have any further information relating to Matthew and Mary as it would lead me to a new thread of enquiry and investigation.
