There is a John Duley listed in the "First Family" database at the NZ Society of Genealogists web site. As a member, I ordered a copy to see what they have. There is also a Jean Duley listed in the First Families - maybe the same man? I will return and post anything of use from the First Family data when I get it.
I also found a burial and probate on a John Duley who was born about 1833 and died 1869.

There is a Catherine Duley, wife of John, who is buried at Port Chalmers Cemetery. She had a birth year of about 1845 and died on 23 Oct 1893.
Also buried in the Duley plot is a Mary Ann Winter, who could be her daughter. Date of death 1918. This would mean thatyYour Mary Ann Duley, who married Thomas Edmund Davidson, was divorced from him, as he did not die until 1921. A Mary Ann Davidson married Henry Walter Winter in 1910.

Thomas Edmund Davidson and Mary Ann Duley had six children that I could locate.
Catherine Annie Queenie Oliver Davidson born 1882, married Peter McGregor in 1902.
Charlotte Elizabeth Jane Davidson born 1884, married Augus Graham McKay in 1909. She died in 1960.
Christopher Vance Davidson, whom you know about.
William John Davidson born about 1890.
Herbert Edmund Davidson born 1892, died 1955 Dunedin.
Charles Rudolph Davidson, born 1896 died 1953 in Christchurch.
