Peter Norton war of 1812 from Akron, Ohio

Im looking for anything on my ancestor, Peter Norton (5/11/1770-8/23/1822) born in Farmington, CT and settled in Akron around the early 1800s. He supposedly served in the war of 1812, but I cannot find anything, not even the unit he was in. Since he died in 1822, Im not sure he filed a pension, but his wife, Eulthina, may have, as she died in 1844. Can anybody help me out in getting more info on his war service? Thanks!
