John, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. My husbands grandfather Marcus Obert
came here in 1860 from Germany. He settled
in the Roxborough section of Phila. Worked
as a barber. He served in the Civil War and
married Marguerite Janson from Germany. The
family still lives on the same street. My husband is not really interested in genealogy so I'll check with my sister-in-
law to see if she knows where in Germany he
came from. She is working on the Obert's
and Janson's, but is elderly and has no
computer so depends on me to help her. Right
now I'm working on my own family so I'm
a little overwhelmed. I know she would be
delighted if you could help fill in the
Obert blanks.
