Bernice T. O'Brien formerly of Carpentersville Funeral services for Bernice T. O'Brien, 95, of Green Valley, Ariz., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Burial will follow in the Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Born on Dec. 25, 1911, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Allen and Frances (nee Jaroslawsky) Dow, she died Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at St. Mary Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. Bernice was a former many-year resident of the Carpentersville area and a former many-year member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville. She was a former employee of Chicago Rawhide in Elgin. Survivors include her children, Marcella (Donald) Moller of Castle Rock, Colo., William O'Brien of Green Valley and Judith (James) Apfel of Littleton, Colo.; her grandchildren, Jacqueline, John, Annette, Dennis and David; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Allen (Judy) Dow of Homewood, Ill.; sisters, Geraldine Barrett of Tucson, Agnes (Frank) Mattaliano of Oak Lawn and Catherine Durkiewicz of Bolingbrook, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William J.; a son in infancy, Kenneth; a granddaughter, Debra H. Moller; great-grandson, Jesse Pavek; her sisters, Anne and Margaret; and her brothers, Patrick, Robert and Joseph. Please omit flowers. Masses would be appreciated. For information, 847-426-3436.
