James W. O'Brien of Palatine The funeral for James W. O'Brien, 79, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road (½ block east of Route 53), Rolling Meadows, then proceed to St. Cecilia Church for a Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Born March 30, 1928, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. Mr. O'Brien was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He had worked for the City of Chicago as a construction machinist for many years. He was a member of Des Plaines Elks Club 1526 BPOE, K of C Queen of All Saints, American Turners, the Stewart Club and Machinist Local 126. He was the loving husband of Bernice (nee Bessler); father of Kathleen (Patrick) Boyle, Timothy O'Brien and the late Mary Beth (Michael) Casey; adored grandfather of Meggan (Bradley Manson) Boyle, Michael Boyle, Maggie and Michael Casey, and Sarah and James O'Brien.
