O'Briens from Indianapolis

My grandmother, whose surname was O'Brien, came from Indianapolis to New Zealand in 1896. Her mother, who was also called Annie O'Brien, and who was part Native American, came too and also her brother Martin. My great-grandfather came from County Clare (I think) his name was Patrick O'Brien and he was a plate-maker. My grandmother died before I was born (four years of myocarditis was on the death certificate) and Dad didn't really talk about his family. She was born in either 1875, 1876 or 1877; I can't get it closer than that as she seemed to put slightly different dates on her marriage licence, Dad's birth certificate etc.
I would really appreciate it if I could find out anything about her family in the United States.
