Hi Carolyn,
I suddenly have become interested in tracing my roots, and while searching for info on my grandfather, Anthony Benedict Fennell, I came across your message. My paternal grandmother was Madeleine O'Brien, born 12/18/1900 who married Anthony Benedict Fennell (nickname "Chic") born 1898 or 99 in Maryland, died in California 1946. He was an attorney, they had 4 kids (Edward O'Brien, called Brien and my Dad born 12/6/1925, William Parsons Fennell, Patricia, and Demaris who died at age 3.) They lived in Chevy Chase, MD, but Chic left the family and moved to CA. Madeleine O'Brien Fennell was a Special Ed teacher and later settled in Chestertown, MD where she lived out her years until her death in 1984. Kind of a coincidence with the O'Brien/Fennell link__might we be related? I don't anything about the orphaned children, but if we have a link, sure would love hearing from you.
Best Regards, Karen Idema karen.idema@mckeough.com
