John,
A report by a professional genealogist on file in the O'Dea Clan Archives at the Clare County Libraries indicates that Bishop O'Dea and his siblings were all born in the United States. Their father Edward O'Dea, a tailor by trade, was born in County Limerick in 1833 and arrived in Boston in 1853. He married Ellen Kelly there in 1856. Of eight children, four were born in Massachusetts, the others in California and Oregon.
Contact me if you would like a copy of the report and the address of someone who has researched the Kelly line.

O'Dea Clan Historian
