Hi Barry,
Sorry, I read further after I replied and realised that your father was not born in Ireland. The Dwyer family may still have a connection with the family in Ireland, or the connection may be in India as there were quite a few members of the Becher family both in the Civil Service & the Army....not as far as I know from the "Alleyn Becher" branch though.
I will keep an eye out for any O'Dwyer/Dwyer connections.
