How about tombstones for John and Margaret, nothing on there about place of birth? Or records from the diocese they belonged to? Us RC's kept pretty good records.
If not, keep me in mind.
As I say, mine came from Clonakilty, Southern Cork. They farmed ina little place called Richfordstown, and were evicted. My James born in 1807, catholic, and the one "L". You never know.
Also, do you have any records (the RC church will have them) on godparents or marriage sponsors for James & Margaret's children? Lots of leads to be found there.
