Almont Herald January 27, 1921 Lapeer County, Michigan

Mrs. John Ovens

After an illness of more then one year, Mrs. Ovens passed quietly away on Monday morning, January 24, 1921.

Fannie, the fourth child of James and Kathryn Taylor, was born near Armada, May 12, 1853. When 11 years of age her parents, with herself, two brothers and three sisters, moved to a farm near Almont, and later, with her father and mother, to the village of Almont, where they spent the remainder of their days. She was united in marriage to John Ovens in 1887.

Mrs. Ovens was a very patient sufferer, and was a great lover of flowers and during her long illness was greatly cheered by their presence. The many flowers sent her as well as at the time of her death, attested to her many friends. The funeral was held at her late home on South Main street, Wednesday afternoon, W. L. Moore, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating.
