I too am a descendant of this line (Pace/Casey) but have been unable to find any primary evidence of that marriage. There are several deeds where Barnabas' wife's name changes from Agnes to Mary along the way, but nothing that says she was a Casey. Comparison of census information for Elbert Co., GA, 1820 and 1830 indicates that Mary (Casey) Pace was probably born betwen 1771-1775, which would have made her the slightly older sister of John Casey who m. Elizabeth Pace. Georgia federal census information is missing for 1790, 1800 and 1810. However, based on 3 censuses (1820/30/40) and other information, I place John's birthdate as about 1776-1777.
By the way--there is nothing to indicate that her name was anything other than simply "Elizabeth Pace"--not Elizabeth Parris Pace. I believe that error got started when someone mistranscribed the "Pace to Carlton" deed, which had missing punctuation. Elizabeth's first name appeared adjacent to that of her brother Parris, with no comma inbetween, and unfortunatly this is getting passed around as her full name. The mistranscription appeared once in print in a book of deed listings some years ago. I've seen nothing else to indicate that she had a middle name. Please let me know if you have primary information concerning this. Thanks.
