This from a Pace Society Genealogy Web Site: 1. JOHN (OF MIDDLESEX) PACE - NEW - Pace Society DNA tests indicate that our John Pace, of Middlesex, was born in England. Further research strongely indicates that John was the son of Joseph Pace and Margaret Palmer (Margarette Pallmer), and that he was christened on 22 Sep 1665 in Wrockwardine, Shropshire, England. This is exciting news for those of us from this Pace line. However, because this research is new to me, although the DNA tests were done in 2003, please refer to the Pace Society website for this and other information on our Pace line and other DNA research. I do hope to include the new data and more of our English ancestrial Pace lines, once I've had the chance to go over the information and 'digest' this new direction for myself. As for John's death date, the Christ Church Parish Register records indicate, on page 133, that he was buried on January 23, 1720 or 1721. Since John signed his will on Dec 2, 1720 - I conclude that the year of his death was most likely 1721 - or, perhaps the mistake was made in the reverse - perhaps the will was written in 1819 instead of 1820. Researchers better than I will have to figure that one out! John Pace married (1) **ELIZABETH. He married (2) MARY MURRAY February 20, 1717/18 in Middlesex Co., VA / Christ Church Reg. Pg 116, daughter of ALEXANDER MURRAY. She was born November 22, 1674 (Per Christ Church Parish Reg. Pg 6). **ELIZABETH NEWSOME Abt. 1693 in Middlesex Co., VA, daughter of WILLIAM ROBERT NEWSOME and FRANCIS and/or ANN . She was born Abt. 1673 in Charles City, Virginia, and died December 30, 1716 in Middlesex Co., Virginia (January 01, 1716/17, Christ Church Parish Reg. pg 43). "According to the "Pace Society of America Bulletin," Elizabeth is the daughter of Robert Newsome and Frances Newsome. According to the "Maycock Papers," Elizabeth is the daughter of William Newsome. The fact that John and Elizabeth Pace named one of their sons, Newsome, tends to strengthen the case for Elizabeth's maiden name being Newsome. It is also known that William Newsome resided not far from where John and Elizabeth lived. " - Robert B. Casey (See 'Early Pace Families') Children of JOHN PACE and ELIZABETH are: 2. i. John Pace signed his will on 2 Dec., 1720, and it was Proven on 7 March 1720 [document indicated 1820, probably should have read 1821 OR perhaps the actual will was really written in 1819?] in Middleses Co., Court.
