The Pace and Seaberry/Seabury lines crossed in Johnston Co. (Pace) and Wayne Co. (Seaberry), both in North Carolina. This appears to be the family of the Milly Seabury/Seaberry/Seberry/Seburry who married Rensnow Pace in Wayne Co,NC in 1872. They appear to be mulatto, but the marriage was among the Black Marriages. I guess in 1872, you were either Black or White. It is possible that the Seaberry/Seaburry family were also mixed with American Indian blood. Since my lookup of the Johnston Co. 1880 census did not include a RENSNOW PACE, I presume the couple stayed in Wayne Co. NC (or some other county.) I have been told that after their marriage, Rensnow (Raven Snow? or Rhinison) moved to Arkansas. This is the latest Wayne Co. census on-line. Wayne Co. NC is south-east of Johnston Co. NC 1860 - I did not get the full location in the county. 232,223, Theo. They lived in JOhnston Co., NC, after marrying there in 1836. While the marriage bond in among white marriages, ALSEY PACE was one-half American Indian and one-half white, according to Pace researchers. However, on Johnston Co., NC census reports the family is shown as mulatto (or free persons of color). I have much more information on the Alsey Pace family.
