I am trying to determine whether the surname Packwood is Irish or English. If anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it very much. My grandfathers name was Edmund Packwood also born in the Gaspe. Unfortunatly that's all I know. Someone who is Irish told me that the Packwoods came over with the Hamiltons from Ireland???
